Zuchon

Zuchon is a designer or hybrid dog. It is the cross between Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise. They are known as Shichon, fuzzy wuzzy puppy and teddy bear dog. Zuchon is a portmanteau name combining the names of two different breed. They are not accepted as a breed by any major recognized dog breed registry. One of the advantages of keeping this dog as a pet is that they do not shed but it also requires regular maintenance and grooming. They are known as hybrid vigor as they are hybrid of two different purebreds. They have better health when they are the first generation. Health problems may exist if they are not the first generation of this breed. The dog breed has a short history that began just before the starting of the 21st century. History

Zuchon originates from the United States and breeding of this designer dog started just before the starting of the 21st century. Previously, it was not that popular but now it has become one of the most popular toy dogs.

Physical Appearance

Zuchon has an average height of 12 inches from the shoulder and weighs up to 25 pounds. Zuchon is dog breed known for its endearing face, soft teddy-bear coat and large expressive eyes. They have a longer coat and does not shed much. This coat requires grooming and maintenance.

Temperament

Zuchon has a great personality and is very playful, well-mannered and lively. Sometimes, they are stubborn but after getting trained, they can be a good family pet. They can be trained easily. This dog breed is known to be gentle, social and happy. They become devoted to their owners and it’s difficult for them to stay away from their owner for a long time. They can be good watch dogs.

Health

One of the most important features is that they have a longer life. The average life expectancy of Zuchon is around 13 to 15 years. After few generations, they are born weak and may have many possible defects that include deafness, epilepsy, dysplasia, canine hip and liver disease.
