The Yo-Chon dog, also known as Yorkie Mix or Borkie, is a combination of two pure breeds, namely the Bichon Frise and the Yorkshire terrier. Just like most designer breeds of dogs, they are ideally supposed to take the best genetic qualities of their parent’s pure breeds, which include small stature, different color coat and friendly personality. The Bichon Frise, being its primary parent, originated from France, while the Yorkshire Terrier originated from England. Both of these dog breeds are hypoallergenic which makes the Yo-Chon an excellent companion to those who prefer hypoallergenic dogs. One unique feature of the Yo-Chon is unlike other designer dogs, it doesn’t matter which breeds, whether it’s the Bichon Frise which is the mother or the other way around.
Although they may display mixed appearances, The Yo-Chon usually has a blunt muzzle, black nose, and a long tail. This animal is easily recognized due to its round skull and eyes. They have a full hypoallergenic coat that can be a mixture of black, blonde, brown, cream, dark brown, golden, tan or white.
The Yo-Chon has a cheerful and loving temperament. They are also well known to be very playful, energetic, alert and very affectionate. They are very friendly with anyone they are fond of, even kids but when left alone, can be very destructive.
Just like their parent breed, the Bichon Frise, The Yo-Chon may be sensitive to vaccination. They are prone to attacks of urinary track infections just like most mixed breeds, which can be treated by a vet. Other possible illnesses include eye disorders, PRA and Patellar Luxation.
