Shinese

Introduction:

Shinese is a designer hybrid dog developed by breeding the Shih Tzu and the Pekingese. Also known as Shih-teze and Peke-A-Tzu, these sweet looking dogs make great pets. Despite its small size, Shinese make good guard dogs because of their aggressive and protective nature.

Physical Appearance:

Shinese are small sized dogs. They measure around 10-12 inches in terms of height and weight around 10-16 pounds. They have squashed face, large endearing eyes, short muzzle and flappy ears. The coat of Shinese is human like and appears as long double coat. The coat comes in all type of colors such as white, black, brown, golden or a combination of these.

Temperament:

The Shinese dogs are very playful and loving in terms of temperament. They are eager to please their owners. They love to be around their owners and are great lap dogs, which makes them an ideal companion for elderly. Shinese are good around bigger children, but they may not be best dog around for small children, as they may be harmed by small children because of their size. Shinese are alert dogs and will alert their owners about strangers.

They require medium exercise to stay healthy and fit. Obedience training and early socialization are must to keep your pet well-behaved.

Health:

Just like their pure bred parents, Shinese are prone to respiratory issues and skin allergies. They can suffer from mild asthma attacks in hot and humid weather. As they have sensitive skin, they are susceptible to skin allergies caused by ticks or fleas. Because of their long facial hair, they are prone to eye infections and irritations.
