Havachon or Frise Havanese is a small, cross dog between Bichon Frise and Havanese. This is also referred to as a hybrid dog. The life expectancy of this breed is around 12 to 15 years. Lots of dogs come with unclear origins and Bichon Frise is one among them. It is believed that this dog is descended from Barbet and comes from Mediterranean. This dog was less popular in late 1800s, but it entered in the minds of dog lovers with its looks and intelligence. Havanese is a gentle, loving and caring dog. It loves the company of its owner and family. The cross breed, Havachon is stubborn, sweet, very willing and love to explore everywhere.

Physical Appearance

Havachon is a small dog measuring 9 to 12 inches tall and weighing 6 to 12 pounds. It has a medium length tail, round shaped black or brown eyes, and a muzzle that directs up the eyes. The ears of this breed droop down and it has double coat, which is silky, soft and long haired. Common colors of this dog are gray, cream, white, blue, silver and brown.


Havachon is very curious, smart, lovely and very devoted to its owner. It requires lots of attention from its owners. But, a few of them can develop shyness around strangers. This problem can be solved completely by providing proper training and socialization. The dog is energetic, happy and gentle and it loves to solve puzzles. Havachon is very intelligent and it can live in any situation. This is an intensely loyal and affectionate dog.


Just like all other puppies, Havachon can inherit health issues from its parents. Health clearance is required for avoiding these problems. But, this is not common when you purchase a mixed breed dog. Possible health problems that are associated with Havachon are Chondrodysplasia, allergies, bladder problems, Legg-Perthes Disease, joint dysplasia, vaccination sensitivity, heart problems, deafness, Patellar Luxation, and eye problems.
