Fo-Chin

Silkchon is a hybrid between Silky Terrier and Bichon Frise dogs. They are also known as Silkychon and have originated in the United States of America. They are a great companion for the family members. They are affectionate, loyal and intelligent animals. They are friendly animals; they love to play around with kids and also with other animals. Silkchons are alert and curious animals. They love to be independent, friendly, outgoing and playful. They are shedding animals, so it is not a good option for people with allergies. Sometimes, they act very stubborn and can be very loud. They are very wary of strangers and are very avid diggers.

Physical Appearance

Their physical appearance is a mix between both the parents – the silky terrier and the bichon frise. They come in an array of colors like white, brown, black, tan and a mix of all these colors. They have a long coat and their hair can be slightly curly, wavy or straight. It is important to groom them regularly to ensure they look neat.

Personality

Temperamentally, Silkchons are very stubborn. Their stubbornness is due to the fact that both its purebred parents are stubborn dogs. They are prone to separation anxiety and are notorious for being difficult to housebreak. They are also shy animals but once they get friendly, they lose their shyness. They are very wary of strangers, so they will bark out loud whenever they see a stranger getting into the house. They are healthy animals but are prone to health issues faced by their parents. However, since they are crossbred, they are also free from some serious health conditions. It is important to train them regularly with light and consistent exercises.
