Cock-A-Tzu

The Cock-A-Tzu is a cross breed of the Cocker Spaniel and Shih Tzu. This hybrid breed is known as a loving, gentle, kind animal that is fun to have around and like being in the company of loving pet owners. The Cock-A-Tzu comes in white, golden, and black colors. This type of hybrid dog will remain healthy if it gets the exercise it needs and if you as the owner feed and care for it properly. If you want to purchase a hybrid dog, you may want to consider the fact that The Cock-A-Tzu is a dog that competes in competitive obedience and agility which means that you can train this animal to do neat tricks and listen and obey to the commands given.

Physical Appearance

Cock-a-Tzu is a breed that comes in black, white and other various colors. Their nose is like that of the Cocker while the eyes are like that of the Shih Tzu. The breed is lean just like the Cocker Spaniel while its hair is like the Shih Tzu,-sometimes fluffy and easily tangled. So if you want a breed that requires less grooming, the Cock-A-Tzu may not be the ideal choice although worth considering is the fact that the breed does not shed much. The Cock-A-Tzu is a small dog which is good if you have young children, however don’t expect this dog to chase off intruders or protect you while out on a walk at the local park.

Temperament

This breed is sometimes hyper but usually will lounge around most of the time. The atmosphere of your household would be a large factor in how this hybrid behaves, but a calm demeanor can be expected. Getting along with other dogs and small children generally is not an issue and the dogs are happy with a lot of attention and being with their owners. The Cock-a-Tzu hardly ever barks unless given reason and is very gentle in nature, so your children would be safe and perhaps even entertained in the company of the Cock-a-Tzu.

Health

The Cock-A-Tzu is prone to ear infections on a frequent basis if the ears are neglected due to the deep ear canal the Cocker Spaniel has and the hair in the ears that Shih-Tzu’s have. Allergies are also an issue with this breed but can be treated by the Vet. This pet is an indoor pet that will remain healthy if cared for in the right conditions and with proper feeding along with adequate vet care and checkups.
