If you haven’t heard by now, We Rate Dogs provides the internet with a super professional service. I’ll give you a hint of what it is. It’s in the name. “I saw other people doing extraordinary things in 140 characters — making me laugh and making me feel things in that limited character space. I got addicted to that challenge as well,” Matt Nelson, the man behind the project toldTIME. “I realized dogs were a very hot topic on the internet. If I wanted my writing to reach more people, I wanted to utilize dogs.” Soon, Matt created the @dog_rates Twitter account and issued his first rating while chilling with his friends in an Applebee’s in North Carolina – an 8/10, handed down to the pet of one of the guys he was with. The next day his Twitter account already had 3 thousand subscribers. Now, it has over 7,5 million.
I’m an animal photographer and these images are from my photo series titled HAIRY. I originally posted 8 dogs here on Bored Panda in 2016. I’ve since expanded the series, spending 3 months photographing 30+ more dogs before and after their haircuts. Here are 7 new dogs.
All the dogs have been groomed in a Japanese grooming style. Japanese dog grooming does not follow the rules of traditional, breed-standard grooming. In fact, it only has one mission ― to bring out the dogs’ individual personalities and make them look as adorable as possible! With extreme attention to detail and careful consideration of a pup’s best attributes, Japanese dog groomers and salons achieve the perfect transformations by forgetting the uniform looks and getting creative.
All the dogs in the series were groomed by the incredibly talented groomers from Healthy Spot in Los Angeles, CA. Many of the groomers there specialize in this style of cut and have been trained by Japanese masters.
The series is now available in a book called Puppy Styled, available on Amazon and in bookstores everywhere. I hope you enjoy!
We love to share all of our lives on social media, what we wear, what we eat, where we go and most importantly our friends and family. For many of us our dogs fall in the friends and family category. These furry playmates are more than animals, they are jokesters, guardians and sometimes even models.
Dog owners love to share their canine’s shenanigans on Snapchat, paired with clever captions. Even if you don’t have a pet of your own, Bored Panda still thinks you should be able to enjoy the treasures from our dog Snapchat collection. We promise these pups will brighten your day or at least give you a good chuckle.
