25+ Times Things Matched Their Surroundings Too Well

Camouflage experts spend countless hours making soldiers and military equipment blend in seamlessly with their surroundings, deftly using shapes and colors that best suit the match the different environments in warfare.

This makes sense, as it does when creatures do the same in an effort to avoid predators. But everyday things on the street? Not so much. That’s why it’s hilariously funny when people and objects are spotted accidently going chameleon and hiding in plain sight. We here at Bored Panda have collected a list of just these occasions, as a follow-on to a previous post which you can find here. Theres A New Halloween Comic About Brutus & Pixie That Will Instantly Make Your Day

Halloween is approaching and nobody wants to be caught last minute without a costume – not even webcomic characters Pixie and Brutus. From the creative mind of Minnesota-based cartoonist Ben Hed, comes a new Halloween themed comic strip of the quirky duo.

Led by Pixie, who Hed described to Bored Panda as “a tiny, joyful, energetic kitten,” the unlikely pair hunt for best friend costumes for the spooky holiday. Brutus, the large, scar-faced German Shepherd, begrudgingly indulges Pixie, as per usual, and the result is a hilarious fashion show of coordinating ensembles.

The animal character’s popularity was something Hed never planned, “Honestly, Pixie and Brutus were just another random comic idea I had while at work. I was never planning on making them a series, I just thought it would be a funny idea to introduce a cute little kitten to a big intimidating war dog. So I made the first Pixie and Brutus comic, and people liked it so much I Just kept making them.”

Artist Gives Disney Princesses Disabilities And Disorders To Advocate An Important Message

There is no doubt that Disney princesses have and always will be a great source of inspiration for artists. However, this time they are not the main characters of the story.

The series called “Royal Service Dogs” illustrates classical Disney princesses as individuals with disabilities being helped by service dogs. Arien Smith sees his art as “both a critique on the lack of disabled characters and advocacy for disability rights.”

He is also a self-identified advocate, trainer, writer, and mental health activist and wants to be able to raise awareness of the many ways that service dogs can support disabled handlers.

Scroll down the page and see what a wonderful project this is.

Cinderella

Cinderella lives with fibromyalgia, which is an invisible condition but can be disabling for many people. Your service dog help her out by removing her shoes.

Rapunzel

Here the image represents Complex PTSD and Dissociative Identity Disorder. C-PTSD is a type of response to prolonged trauma (frequently in childhood). Service dog is helping her out of a very strong dissociative state, then providing tactile stimulation for comfort and grounding.

Tiana

Tiana has Autism. Her little service dog (small dogs are also great) is not performing a task in this figure, but tasks for autistic people may include tactile stimulation, disruption of physically harmful behavior, orientation during over-stimulation episodes, and anxiety calming.

Belle

Belle has Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Her service dog is demonstrating a blocking stance so she can be alerted if someone approaches her behind.

Snow White

Snow White is allergic to some foods (the artist made reference to mace). Her service dog alert to an allergen in her food.

Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty with Narcolepsy. Your service dog is holding his head after an episode of daytime drowsiness. Narcolepsy is a neurological condition that affects sleep and arousal.

Pocahontas

Pocahontas has diabetes. Her service dog is a medical alert dog, which tells her through pawing or nudging if her blood sugar is too high or too low.

25+ Gravity Defying Things That Made People Look Twice

You don’t need a physics degree to know about Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation: “Any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.” And even if all that sounds like gibberish we all understand the general principle of how gravity works – especially when we see something that seems to go against this law.

Below is a list of photos that show people, objects and animals that thought gravity be damned and followed their own set of physics rules. Sure there is a scientific explanation for even the wackiest occurrences, but that doesn’t make them any less entertaining! Don’t forget to upvote your favs!

Theres A Campaign To End The Cat Nudity And Every Cat Owner Should See It

Creators of the card game Exploding Kittens, Elan Lee and Shane Small, have teamed up with webcomic Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal for a noble mission – end the cat nudity. Unlike the catchy mission plan suggests, the project is not a kitty costumes business but instead refers to putting collars on your indoor feline friends so people know they are lost cats and not outdoor cats.

To spread the mission in a fun way they created a series of cat illustrations depicting lost indoor cats as “convicts,” clad in bright orange collars. Their hope for the now viral #KittyConvict campaign is to start a social trend that they makes people more aware of lost cats and return them home. Inman teamed up with GoTags to create two orange collars that people can buy on Amazon. The team used the extra revenue from their Exploding Kittens game sales to provide a subsidized price for the collars. “I don’t know if it will work,” Inman told KING5. “It’s a tall order. We’re asking the world to change their perception of what a collar should be.”

The statistics the website provides on loss and return rates of indoor cats differ from that of the ASPCA, which provides a more optimist outlook. According to the ASPCA study, 15 percent of pet owners lost a cat or dog within the past five years and out of those lost pets, 93 percent of dogs and 74 percent of cats were recovered. Still, Dr. Emily Weiss, a certified applied animal behaviorist and vice president of shelter research and development for the ASPCA, agrees that there are more difficulties when it comes to finding lost cats. When people see a lost cat they are more likely to assume it is an outdoor pet, whereas dogs are more often reported.

Incredible Before & After Photos Of A Traumatized Rescue Dog Shows What Love And Care Can Do

After an old lady from Radviliškis, Lithuania got too sick to live on her own, she was admitted to a hospital. Sadly, all of her remaining relatives were scattered all over the world, so nobody could take care of the pets she was forced to leave behind. While authorities had spent months searching for ways to save her animals, “Vyšnių sodas,” a rescue shelter from Vilnius, Lithuania, stepped up. After they arrived, one of the animals, a pup named Pluto, was clearly the one who needed help the most.

“We found the puppy in a horrific condition together with a few other animals, ditched in the abandoned homestead in Radviliškis,” “Vyšnių sodas” spokeswoman Indrė Žukauskaitė told Bored Panda. “After their owner had to be admitted to the hospital, the poor creatures were left to starve.”

Pluto had lost a lot of weight. “Suffering from Mange, his body was reduced to skin and bones. His eyes were hopeless, filled only with endless pain.”

“Upon arriving at our shelter, Pluto appeared to have been completely given up,” Žukauskaitė added. “He didn’t want to get up for anything. He wasn’t eating, and was doing his business right under himself.”

The vets cleaned him, removing the scabby epidermis from his skin. The first procedure Pluto received took 5 hours. “Still, he was feeling miserable and his burning skin was being treated a few times each day. The vets said that his condition was ‘dangerous and contagious.’ Eventually, because of the Mange infection, Pluto had to be isolated without the possibility of going out for a walk.”

“The pup had been going through living hell for 3 months. After the quarantine, he had to re-learn how to walk.” But that was only the half of his remaining troubles. “Pluto was afraid of everything and everyone.”

“It took six months before Pluto gathered the courage to step outside,” Žukauskaitė said. “His first steps were very tough for him. He was so afraid, even the grass under his feet creeped him out.”

“Thanks to the endless patience and love provided by our staff, however, Pluto started socializing. As he introduced himself to his surroundings and the other dogs, Pluto started eating more, too.”

The dog who defied the odds hasn’t fully recovered yet. “But even though he’s cautious around people, he has regained most of his weight and we find Pluto playing with other dogs more and more.”

P.S. Bored Panda will donate most of the profits from this story to the rescue organization that saved Pluto, “Vyšnių sodas.” If you have the possibility, we kindly ask you to contribute as well. Artist Shows What Would Happen If Humans Flirted Like Animals, And Its Hilarious

Telling someone you’re interested usually involves quite a few corny pick-up lines and awkward glances. Wouldn’t it be easier if we, humans picked our partners the same way animals do? For example, female Galapagos tortoises hit on males that can stretch their neck out the farthest. And in many penguin species couples are formed after the male presents the female with a pebble. Plain and simple. But before you yell “somebody should make a comic about it,” hold on. Artist Ben Hed already did. The illustrator and character designer from Minnesota has put together a series, answering the questions “What if humans flirted like animals?” and it’s hilarious.

“I’ve been doing Pet Foolery on Instagram for about 8 months now, but I’ve been drawing goofy little comics for as long as I can remember,” Ben told Bored Panda.

“My comic ideas seem to gravitate towards animals,” he added. “I live in a house with 3 dogs, 2 cats, 15 chickens, and 5 goats… so that might have something to do with it.”

The artist said that nothing is as rewarding as seeing other people enjoy his comics as much as he does. “Everybody likes funny comics and everybody likes animals. My scribbles are a combination of both!”

Scroll down to check out the images and tell us in the comments which one of these approaches you’re going to use next time.

Father Illustrates The Friendship Between His Tiny Baby And Giant Dog And The Comics Are Adorable

Being a new parent can be extremely tiring, but new father, Nate Anderson found his baby boy to be the endless source of creative inspiration. His webcomic series ‘Boy & Dog’ chronicles the hilarious adventures of his son, Rowan, and their family’s dog.

Anderson told Bored Panda the idea for the comic strip came after the birth of his son last year. “My life was changed by this wiggly, squishy boy that filled my home with laughter and poop. The animals didn’t know what to think of him at first, but my Golden Retriever, Murphy, decided that he was pretty cool,” he said, “Rowan loves the dog and would squeal with delight whenever Murphy was around him. I started to draw the comics to show what I imagined in my head was transpiring between them.”

His Boy & Dog illustrations include conversations, hijinks and even some crude jokes between dog and baby. “Everything is new for the boy, and I imagined that it was the dog’s duty to teach him all about the world from a dog’s point of view,” explained Anderson.

This is not the artist’s first time trying his hand at a webcomic. Anderson’s first series was called “Quackyboys” and featured him and his college roommates having “wacky adventures,” but eventually died off when they moved on. A college drop-out after freshman year, he said he is largely self-taught, “I was already working as a professional Illustrator/Designer at the time, and I feel that I learned more working in the industry than I ever did in school with very uninspiring instructors.”

While his comics are quite eccentric, Anderson admitted he’s not very good at talking to people and uses his talent to communicate, “My comics give me the ability to tell funny stories and make people laugh with silly gags. I like making people happy. I like making people laugh. Unfortunately, I’m a little socially awkward so this is a better platform for my jokes.”

Inspired by artist Glen Keane, he said he loves traditional hand-drawn animation, “I am a huge Disney nerd and when I get into a slump, watching one of the movies he worked on gets me drawing again. Disney’s Tarzan has been a huge influence in my desire to animate.” As for his own work, he creates each comic entirely on Photoshop from rough layout, sketching, linework, coloring, and dialog.

For Anderson, his overall goal is to spread some laughter and joy to his viewers, “I know I’m not the only one who deals with baby problems and dog problems, so if I can get people to relate to my goofy drawings and have a chuckle then I will consider myself successful.”

New comic strips for Dog & Baby are released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on his website. Scroll down below to see some samples from this adorable series and don’t forget to upvote your favs!

Guy Whose Wife Left Him With Nothing But A Dog Continues To Put Him In Fun Scenarios (10+ New Pics)

There‘s a saying that every end is a new beginning. This is what happened to Brazilian illustrator Rafael Mantesso a few years ago when he divorced his ex-wife and she left leaving behind an empty house with white walls.

“She took her cookware, furniture, photos, her decorations,” Mantesso wrote on Bored Panda earlier. “The only thing she didn’t take was my bull terrier, whom she’d named after her favorite shoe designer: Jimmy Choo.”

Inspired by the blank walls and his dog, Mantesso started snapping pictures of Jimmy running around the house and this was the moment these humorous series was born.

“When Jimmy collapsed in happy exhaustion next to the white wall, I grabbed a marker and drew a new world around his ginger-eared pup. Suddenly, I felt his long-dormant inspiration for drawing, for art, for life—returning.”

Mantesso continues to portray his bull terrier in fun scenarios that are the result of the illustrations that now have almost 600k fans on Instagram. Scroll down to see them for yourself!
