The Best Dog Photos Of 2018 Have Been Announced, And Theyll Give You All The Feels

Every year National Geographic sweeps us off our feet with stunning nature shots, showcasing the beauty and the sublime of the animal kingdom. The Kennel Club Dog Photographer of the Year embraced the same concept, but chose a subject that’s closer to home – dogs.

Dog Photographer of the Year 2018 winners were announced on July 16th. The contest included 10 categories, e.g. “Assistance Dogs and Dog Charities”, “Dogs at Play”, “Dog Portrait”, etc. While most categories had to do with the content of the photograph, there was also a category called “Young Pup Photographer”, for photographers that are 11 years and younger. The photographs celebrate the canines in many of their aspects, from their goofiness to their sense of duty. Scroll down below to check out the winners and don’t forget to comment and vote for your favorites!

Title of image: ‘Home’ Dog: Ruby Roo, Golden Retriever ‘This picture of Ruby was taken whilst she was resting with my friend Chris after playing with her daughter Nellie. I started photography three years ago when I realized how much joy I find in taking photos of nature and animals. Since then I have photographed uncountable priceless moments, but my own dogs have stayed my biggest inspiration all along. For me, the purpose of photography is capturing a memory and make it last forever, as well as expressing my love for dogs through my pictures. My biggest goal is to make outdoor dog photography more popular with the creative use of lights and colours, while motivating other aspiring photographers. This family photo was taken in a sunny spring afternoon as the last shot of the session. It perfectly expresses what dogs and photographing them means to me: not only the deepest harmony and happiness, but spending time with whom and what I love the most: dogs!’ – Tamara Kedves

Title of image: ‘Reassurance’ Dog: Rocko, German Shepherd Dog ‘My thought process behind this picture is one that is close to my heart. My brother is ex-military as are some of my friends. Title of image: ‘Reassurance’ Dog: Rocko, German Shepherd Dog ‘My thought process behind this picture is one that is close to my heart. My brother is ex-military as are some of my friends. I have seen first-hand some of the issues that war can have on even the strongest of men. The ex-soldier in the photo suffered great loss in Afghanistan and suffers from PTSD so that’s when Rocko came to his rescue. Rocko the German Shepherd has been trained by his handler to help combat the effects of PTSD, the skills of which help calm and reassure the soldier when times get hard. In my photograph I tried to capture not just how this dog aids this PTSD sufferer but also to capture the kind nature of the dog and how he enriches this man’s life. I have been following and admiring the work carried out by Service Dogs UK, the charity I am nominating for this category prize donation from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust. I am amazed by how affective dogs can be in assisting an individual with their recovery. So I decided to base my entry for this category on this issue and hope that in doing so will raise awareness of this worthy charity.’ – Dean Mortimer

I have loved dogs since I first encountered one! There are so many different kinds of dogs and they are all so unique. My dream came true in January this year when I became the proud owner of Dallas, a pedigree Whippet puppy. I was overjoyed! I was relaxing on the sofa one day when Dallas crawled beside me. I put my arms out, expecting him to come and cuddle me. Instead, he gazed at the kitchen dreamily! If he could speak then, I bet he would have said, ‘Dinner?’ He looked very curious, so I grabbed my mum’s phone and captured the moment.’ – Sienna Wemyss

I didn’t expect much snow, but come on! It was nearly mid-February and not a flake! My boys were used to lots of snow having lived in Erie but Daffy hadn’t a clue. Title of image: ‘Over the sea of fog’ Pet name: Dania, Cross breed Portuguese Podengo, rescue dog ‘My name is Christina and I was born in Munich. I moved to a small village next to Innsbruck in Austria together with my husband 11 years ago. After having settled down, we adopted two rescue dogs from Spain, thrown away like garbage, found in a dustbin. It wasn’t possible to literally touch Dania for the first six month. Now we spend all the time together. The dogs accompany us to work and in our leisure time we explore the nature together. My wish was to fix the special mood of these moments, staying outside, enjoying nature together and acting as a team. For this reason, inspired by my husband, who is a landscape photographer, I got in touch with photography three years ago. On the picture you can see one of these very special moments. We hiked on Keipen on Senja [Norway] last year and stood speechless on top when the nature was bathed in golden light by the midnight sun. Everything was calm and peaceful. The dogs and us were completely on our own. This is one of my absolutely all-time favourite pictures from our trips.’ – Christina Roemmelt

I’ve always been a dog lover, but my true love of pet photography began when I adopted two rescue dogs as puppies and I photographed them playing and growing up together. I love how dogs never pose, and you can always read their expressions — they aren’t hiding anything. This photo was taken the first time I ever attempted photographing anything under water. A friend opened up her pool to me, and we had the dog play fetch while I snapped photos beneath the surface. It was so challenging to get the focus quickly when the dog jumped in, but it was so much fun to try!’- Leslie Plesser

20+ Hilariously Adorable Reasons Why The Queen Chose Corgis

Comical, cuddly and capricious, Corgis have continued to rule the internet with their various hijinks. While they might seem ridiculous at times, did you know that Corgis were originally the pets of warriors? Yes that’s right, the first breed of these snuggly dogs were brought over to Cardiganshire, Wales by a warrior tribe of Celts around 1200 BCE. Now, over 3000 years later, Corgis seem less like warriors and more like comedians. Pretending to drive cars, sledding in the snow and dressing in ridiculous outfits, these rotund pups have brought many of us countless moments of internet joy. Beyond the web some Corgi enthusiasts love these animals so much they organized a Southern California annual Corgi meet-up. Here at Bored Panda we like to spread the cheer, so we have put together a list of some of our favorite Corgi moments. Don’t forget to up-vote your favorite photos!

Parents Cant Believe Their Eyes After Seeing Security Tape: Dogs Help Toddler Escape Room So Shed Give Them Snacks

Golden Retriever brothers Bleu and Colby, AKA Cheese Patrol, are no strangers to fame. A timelapse video of them as pups running for their dinner has over 13 million views on YouTube, and now they have gone viral again after being caught in the act performing a daring jailbreak – setting their partner-in-crime free so she can give them some snacks.

Toddler Chloe is just 15 months old and she and the dogs are the very best of pals. The clever pups have quickly figured out that Chloe is much more generous with the snacks than her mom and dad, which is all the more reason to hang out with her as often as possible! “Colby parks himself under Chloe’s high chair every night,” dad Chris told Bored Panda. “Lately she’s gotten tall enough to reach into their food bin, so she scoops out kibble and drops it for them, much to our chagrin.”

So when breakfast time comes around, and the old routine of barking outside mom and dad’s door wasn’t bringing any joy, Cheese Patrol gets to work. “When 6 am rolls around and they haven’t been fed yet, they definitely go looking,” Chris told us. Quietly opening the door to Chloe’s room, they sneak inside and wake her up with licks and gentle nudges. When she wakes up, the pups excitedly lead her in the direction of the snacks, and little Chloe is only too happy to oblige!

Chloe’s mom Nina was baffled to find her wandering free in the halls in the morning, as she isn’t big enough to open the bedroom door herself just yet. She decided to set up a video to find out what was going on and the footage of the jailbreak is too adorable for words. “They definitely know exactly what they are doing,” Chris said. “And Chloe feeds them on purpose.”

An authentic little crime syndicate! Their mornings of mischief are coming to an end however, as software company manager Chris and his wife Nina, who is a nurse, are now moving house and security is sure to be tighter from now on. Scroll down to check out the incriminating video evidence for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!

They’re the best of pals, especially since the pups have figured out that Chloe is much more generous with the snacks than mom and dad are

UPS Drivers Capture The Most Interesting Photos On Their Routes, And We Cant Get Enough

Long gone are the days when dogs were every postman’s worst nightmare. If ‘UPS dogs‘ is anything to go by, it seems we have gone full circle and they are now best of friends! And it’s not just dogs your friendly delivery guy encounters on his route.

20+ Times Shibas Proved Theyre The Most Much Wow Dogs Ever

Many people first became familiar with the Shiba Inu from that ‘Doge’ meme that was everywhere for a while (very Shiba, much soft. Wow), but these lovable, eccentric Spitz dogs are actually a very old breed, that has developed quite independently from other common breeds of today.

It is this that makes them seem so ‘weird.’ They are incredibly intelligent dogs that like to keep themselves fastidiously clean, and they have also learned to use their paws much more often than other breeds. In many ways they act more like a cat than a dog! This goes for their personality too, while they like having humans around, they don’t necessarily want or need your attention. You have gotta earn the respect of a Shiba!

Sounds like the perfect pet for someone who can’t decide between a cat and a dog, right? Just make sure you keep your Shiba stimulated and well exercised, they can become quite destructive when bored. So while they are adorably cute, bright and funny, Shibas are not for everyone, be sure you know what you are doing before you get one!

In the meantime, we here at Bored Panda have compiled a list of Shiba Inus doing what they do best, being hilariously funny. Scroll down to check them out for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!

What This Guy Accidentally Sends To His Professor Has Internet In Tears, But Her Response Takes It To Next Level

It’s a time-honored tradition of students everywhere – pulling an all-nighter to complete that paper that has been hanging around your neck for weeks, just before time. These days work is usually submitted online, so all that needs to be done after your caffeine-fueled n

He shared his story on Twitter and it has since gone viral, being retweeted almost 100,000 times.

“For several days I couldn’t even scroll through Twitter without it freezing up on whatever was showing,” Adam told Bored Panda. “I had a video stuck on my phone for 5 minutes as I was getting hundreds of notifications every second.”

But why? What’s the big deal? You might ask. You will understand when you see the file he sent by accident! Scroll down to check it out for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments below!

Here’s how people reacted:

Finally, the professor responded!

“Unfortunately the cat isn’t mine,” Adam told Bored Panda. “I wish it was though! My teacher wanted to know about the cat and if even she could have it but sadly, I’ve never known the cats true origin”

Do you know the origin of this cat? Let us know in the comments!
