"City Invokes 'Poop Happens' Defense"

Some people obviously have nothing better to do with their time and money.

As I do most mornings, I ran down my list of bookmarked news links and stumbled across a headline on ABC News online in the Law section. I have to admit that the headline piqued my interest so I clicked.

It is a sad day when a city is sued because a toddler steps in doggie doo. According to the article, a woman from New York was suing the City of Norwalk, CT because during a visit to the Maritime Aquarium, her one-year-old son stepped in poop. She claims that the shoes and the entire day were ruined by this unfortunate step. She's suing for $100 to replace the shoes and for reimbursement for parking and admission to the aquarium.

Needless to say, her case was immediately dismissed as the city attorney, M. Jeffrey Spahr, "said the official response is that her claim is denied and in his words, "poop happens.""

Maybe it would be better if I didn't offer my opinion on this...
