And for a brief time on earth you were my best friend;
but for an eternity in heaven you will be God's.
Shine Shine, My Sunshine
I remember the first time I saw you, a Sunday afternoon in April. You had been in Krystle Alexander’s horse trailer hidden from Jim because they “had too many dogs.” You were a little white puff, frail and whiney, with your left eye black and a black patch right on top of your butt. Your pelvis almost looked crushed but it felt strong and you growled and bit my fingers when I held you the first time. I can’t say that I was excited about having a puppy, I had just gotten settled into my little farmhouse and my routine with me & Pearl. But here you were and you needed a home.
