On April 4th, Oprah Winfrey will be dedicating her show to her late, beloved cocker spaniel, Sophie.
The April 4th show will discuss puppy mills with reporting done by Lisa Ling, who describes them as "horrific."
Oprah's beloved pooch, Sophie, passed away last month suffering from a kidney infection. While Sophie was not a product of a puppy mill, Oprah's other three dogs were purchased through a breeder. After following Lisa Ling's reporting, Oprah has vowed that when it's time for another dog, she will adopt from a shelter.
Knowing that anything mentioned on the Oprah Winfrey show is regarded as "gospel," one would hope that the personal sharing of her loss and the informative report, will open the eyes of millions about what goes on in puppy mills.

I'm not at all an avid Oprah watcher, but knowing her propensity for making things happen, or bringing otherwise obscure topics to light, and having Lisa Ling doing the undercover investigative reporting, this show should be an eye-opener.
