Sporting Group -
Hound Group -
The Hound Group does not include all hound-type dogs that are mostly hunters, according to the AKC. The classification of this group differs by the kennel club. They are characterized mostly by their stamina and scent sense. This group is very diverse, therefore generalizations are difficult to make.
Members of this group are the Pharaoh Hounds, Norwegian Elkhounds, Bloodhound, Afghans, Dachshunds and Beagles, among others. Some hounds share the distinct ability to produce a unique sound known as baying.
The Afghan Hound is one of the oldest breeds and is characterized by its long fur and in general less obedient.
The American Fosxhound is also stubborn and need a lot of exercise.
Basenji is original from Congo, and it is also named Egyptian or African Dingo or African Barkless Dog, according to the Wikipedia.
Basset Hound is a short-legged dog used in hunting rabbits.
The Beagle is a breed of medium-sized dog that originates from England.
The athletic Greyhounds are used in racing, however, they are not highly energetic dogs.
The Ibizan Hound is a deer-like dog from Spain, named also Ibizan Podenco, according to the Wikipedia.

Herding Group -
The herding group classification consists of purebred dog breeds from the herding dogs and livestock guardian dogs group, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC).
The Herding Group was created in 1983 from the Working Group. It is the newest AKC group classification. The majority of Herding dogs are workers suitable for a variety of jobs, such as rescue and narcotics detection (German Shepperd), perform well in dog sports (Border Collies). They are also good house pets because they are mostly obedient and train well.
The Australian Cattle Dog (http://www.cattledog.com/) and the Welsh Corgi are medium-size-build and have temperament for herding. The Welsh Corgi from England is a low-set, sturdily built dog, recognized by the AKC as the Pembroke and the Cardigan breed. Border Collies are very energetic and excel in dog sports, such as flyball and disc dog competitions, according to the Wikipedia. The German Shepherd from Germany is an obedient large-sized dog often used in Police and military.
